The one thing that I think will enable us to obey this distinctively Christian teaching is to remember that we were once the enemies of God...<br /><br /><span style="font-style:italic;">"Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior." -- Colossians 1:21<br /></span><br /><br />And yet, because He drew us to His side with a marvelous mixture of amazing love, abundant mercy, and irresistible grace, we are now His children! What words can possibly describe this kind of love, that graciously forgives arrogant rebels? What is the appropriate response?<br /><br />Jesus is calling us to respond by taking "The Golden Rule" to a divine realm...DO UNTO OTHERS AS GOD AS DONE UNTO YOU. The former enemies are now forgiven vessels, extending this limitless love to those who are least deserving of it. We do this because we realize that we were once equally undeserving.<br /><br />AND YET...GOD LOVED US ANYWAY!<br /><br />Can I encourage you to think about these things...and to meditate on passages like Eph. 2:1-10 as you prepare to worship God this Sunday?<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8877842541519656084-3350863805984261430?l=fbcfairland.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>Andy Krebs (a.k.a.
